The Story of the Portable Altar – July 2nd 1977

“…Now, I have one last thing to give to you today which I feel is part of the eye in the capstone of the pyramid.   The pictures of Saint Germain and Jesus were copyrighted by Charles Sindelar.  They were released through the I AM Movement for a number of years.  But Charles Sindelar, who painted the painting of Jesus before he ever met the Ballards, refused to turn over his copyright to the organization because he said that these paintings were for the entire world.  So, before he died he gave the copyright, he sold the copyrights to all of his artworks to an individual — a private member — warning that member never to allow the I AM Movement to have the copyrights because he was concerned lest the world would be deprived of the pictures. And, of course, this has happened with the I AM Movement who refuses to sell the I AM books to non-members, which is a great tragedy because the three I AM books are Saint Germain’s gift to America through Godfre.

Well, it has recently come to our attention that the copyrights of these two pictures ran out between fifteen and twenty years ago, and therefore they are now in the public domain.  We’ve made contact with the person to whom Charles Sindelar gave the original copyrights.  And in consultation with him, Monroe and he came to the agreement that it was entirely all right with him, although he realizes that he really doesn’t have any legal say, but it was in keeping with his desire to have our organization publish these magnificent pictures of Saint Germain.

These are not originals.  These are posters which we have printed. They were printed on our campus and, in fact, have just been completed during the conference. In addition, the chart of the Presence, which was completed for that filming on Saint Germain which we told you about — it was actually completed in about four days — has also been printed by us.  So, this large chart of the Presence is also a poster.

Now, I’ve recently come into the possession of a portable altar which was used in the I AM Movement.  It’s a leather case that has a fold and in the center is the chart and in either side Godfre and, excuse me, Saint Germain and Jesus.  It was used by Paul Stickel who was traveling for the messengers, Godfre and Lotus, across the country.  And wherever he went he would unfold this leather case, this fold, and there would be, he would place it on the table and there would be the automatic altar that has symbolized the I AM Movement for so many years.

Well, this was given to me by an old I AM student who was connected with the Ballards and I placed it in my office.  And I noticed the immense radiation from that threefold focus.  So then one day when I was having difficulty recording the radio broadcasts, I put it in front of me and by the microphone where I was recording, and lo and behold that was the day that Saint Germain came through and gave his fiats for America. And I though to myself, this is too good.  So, then I took it to my office and I put it right in front of me on my desk.  And the radiation was enormous, so I said, “Well, I’m going to take it home with me and put it in front of my bed and sleep in front of it.”
So I had the best sleep I’ve ever had.  So then I remembered what God had told the children of Israel, they had their ark — he said, “Don’t build a temple, but have the ark and everywhere you go and pitch your tent, you bring your altar.  And I realized we’re the children of Israel.  We’re the Church Universal and Triumphant, and as I tell you when I give you your baptism into the Church — “You are the Church, the flame on the altar of your heart is the flame of the ark of the covenant, and wherever you go you are the living Church.”
So, I determined in my heart after my experience with this that this is a necessary component of the altar of our Church, which is you wherever you are.  Now when I come to campus I bring it with me.  When I go home at night I take it with me. And it’s my walking altar.  It’s a tremendous forcefield of energy. The law is that wherever the ascended masters’ pictures are, that is where they focus their Electronic Presence.  So it’s not just paper and ink — it becomes the vibrating frequency of the ascended masters.  You will be able to read on the back of the posters the story of how Jesus appeared at 2:00 a.m. on twenty-two consecutive nights to Charles Sindelar for him to paint his portrait.

First, he didn’t know why Jesus was appearing.  He consulted a friend and the friend said, “Paint the portrait.” So he did, and he had it when he met the Ballards, then after he met Godfre, Godfre stood in his studio and when Godfre was standing there, Saint Germain would appear. And so Charles Sindelar would paint the portrait of Saint Germain.  If Godfre had to leave for any reason the image of Saint Germain and the forcefield would dissolve.  And so Charles Sindelar had to wait ’til Godfre came back. So, the story of these paintings is phenomenal.

My initiation into world service came the first time I saw this picture of Saint Germain which was in my mother’s library.  And when I was eighteen I saw this picture, and I leaped, and I knew my life mission had begun, and I was to work for Saint Germain.  It is a very close likeness.  The picture of Jesus is the only picture of Jesus in existence that I feel is a true likeness of Jesus.   And obviously it is — he posed for it.

The other pictures are artists’ conceptions.  Many artists draw their own Christ Self and call it Jesus because they don’t know the difference.  The Kuhlman “Head of Christ” is the Christ Self of Kuhlman, and it’s very, very lovely, but it isn’t Jesus Christ.  And so the closer the likeness, the greater the electronic forcefield that the master projects through the image.  Now this is “Eye-Magic” and Sanat Kumara has taught it as “talismanic magic.”  It’s a talisman or it’s a focus of the ascended masters and of your mighty I AM presence. Now we don’t have the pictures that are before you here in these sizes.  We were simply not physically able to print them in these sizes for this conference.  But, I feel it’s important that –  (Mother says “Excuse me” and there is movement on the stage.)

My project is to get these manufactured.  This is leather, and as you can see, it’s wearing.  I’d like to get them made in vinyl and I’d like to have them prepared for you at a forthcoming conference with the right size.  The reason we have printed them in this size is because of the tremendous energy that comes through the larger ones, and we wanted to start with these focuses in your homes.  This forcefield of Saint Germain and Jesus and the I AM Presence is needed to save America.  These are needed in every home of every Keeper of the Flame.  If it’s a wall in your bedroom, or some place somewhere this needs to be put up — hopefully, upon your altar.  The cost for these is so much less than what it would cost to get a photographic reproduction, that they are now virtually available to all of you.  You can all afford them.

The price for the chart is $10.00 — it would have cost you $50 – $100 to get that chart reproduced in that size photographically.  And the Jesus and Saint Germain are $5.95 each.  Now that comes to a total of $22.00, but I’ve asked the Board for the dispensation to let you have these, if you’re going to buy all three of them at this conference for $20.00.  So I think that’s a great opportunity to have that tremendous energy in your room, and I hope you will all take these home with you and in taking them home and in getting them, we can meet our expenses so that we can produce them again in the portable size.

I’d like to mention to you that there was a very bitter court battle between the individual who held the copyrights and Mrs. Ballard, and after nine years he won and he still retained the copyright.  As a result of this, all of these pictures of Saint Germain and Jesus were removed from the I AM temples all over the world, and in their place there were replaced some which another artist did which never carried the flame.  So what happened was that that forcefield of these ascended masters was withdrawn, and the I AM Movement went down.

It’s a very, very sad story.  But, what has also happened is America has been going down.  And so, I want to tell you that a simple thing like putting up a picture and then having an altar and saying your decrees in front of it, can give your decrees that added momentum. Try it and see because I have seen how important that forcefield is, and we’re so grateful that we have fulfilled the purpose of Saint Germain by re-establishing this forcefield and picking up the torch that was dropped for a number of years.  All glory to God for the wonderful gifts of this altar, this podium and all the hands and the hearts who made it possible.”
