A Dictation By Beloved Maximus
I AM Maximus, I Maximize Light
This dictation by Maximus was delivered by the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Elizabeth Clare Prophet on Saturday, August 11, 1979, during the three-day Retreat on the Ascension, held at the Scottish Rite Memorial Temple in San Francisco, California.
DICTATION TRANSCRIPT
Ascend the ladder of light with me, my children. I come to take you by the hand and to show you a vision of the Promised Land. A ladder of light my angels have let down. And all of you I take by the hand and we climb together. I show you a perspective of life. Let us ascend these steps together as a dress rehearsal for your own life waiting to be lived—oh, waiting to be lived as surely as you wait for the crystal cup to be given.
Therefore, come, and have a look, a peek at the place where angels look and peek-a-boo with each other and one another, and find together that life from loftier heights gains newness of perspective. Come, then, we mount. We mount the stairs and do begin to see earth recede as you mount to the stars.
And you look upon life below as though it were a lilliputian* world and a portion of yourself is vested in that life. And when you become centered in that life, all things loom large, even gnats and flies and little petty problems. But in the perspective of the vast teeming millions of stars and sun centers and all of the places we have been together, you can easily see with me that the segment of time and space that you occupy and call your life is but an inch in a cosmic inch of measurement. And therefore, you say, “Can I not give an inch to God for all the inches that I have taken for myself ?”
What seems to be the intense struggle to overcome is but episode upon episode of a preordained drama of the path of initiation. Your soul has known from the beginning the great turmoil that would be in the beginning of this age. Your soul has known that this is the age of your ascension.
I AM Maximus. I sound the sound of the inner memory and the sound of the great cathedral and the sounding of the bell that is rung by Jesus Christ, the sounding of the sound that initiates the spiral whereby you will surely mount this ladder. And when you mount it on your own, you’ll find your footsteps not so lightly, easily mounting as we do together this night. For I take you over a thousand rungs of this ladder so easily—as easily as the angels ascending and descending.
And from your vantage point, you see with me other stars and evolutions and shining worlds and hierarchies of light and brothers and sisters you have known. Behold the vastness of space and the immensity of light positioned within space. Behold above you the legions of light, all of whom have their attention upon all that is taking place within the earth, within your life, within your community and on the Path.
You see millions of mankind untethered to any light at all. You see a great multitude arising out from among them with a certain self-awareness. You see the saints leading the multitude to the Great Pyramid. And you see the Two Witnesses witnessing unto the vastness of the Solar-El.
I AM that El. I have come to tell you of the great sign of the cross that marks the telling of the El. Sanat Kumara bids you, “Go, tell them. Go be with Gautama what I AM THAT I AM.” And the Witness writes the poem “Tell Them.”
And you are bidden to descend the ladder and to tell the saints and to tell the multitude of a light from far-off worlds. When you see the vast spiral of a golden ratio, burning— burning its way through a cosmos—and you see lifestreams unending, themselves forming the ladder that becomes the chain of hierarchy; all of a sudden, the All-Seeing Eye zeros in on the point on the ladder that you occupy. You have been positioned there by Sanat Kumara.
With angels attending, you hold the flame for a level of initiation. Sometimes you think that life is humdrum or you are bored with sameness. But in actuality, you ensoul a light for all who are on the same wavelength of your consciousness. And were you to vacate your position, there would be a vacuum easily seized by fallen ones whose strategy is to unseat the lightbearers from their niche in the ladder of life and then to take those positions and from them to unseat others.

Who is Maximus?
Maximus (meaning “God is great”) is the authority in the Sun behind the sun for the Great Maxim Light, which is the first cause behind the effect we have called the Cosmic Egg.
In a dictation in 1977, Maximus explained the nature of his service and the meaning of his name:
The word has many connotations, and it is a point for the centering of consciousness on a certain light of Mother—the MA of a cosmos and the I of individualization, and again the confirmation of Mother within the US of the Elohim, of twin flames, and of Alpha and Omega. And the mighty X-factor in the center of the word is the nexus of the turning of the cycles for the integration of the flow of the Buddha and the Mother over the figure-eight pattern.
You will note that the sign of the X is the abbreviation for the sign of the figure eight. You simply erase the curves and you are left with the X in the center. Maximus! [MA-X-I-M-US] It is the representation of dedication to the Mother of all life and to all that is suspended within her womb.
I AM a light, a kindling light of worlds. My service to life is in the center of the Flaming Yod. My service to life is in the center of the Elohim. And when I say “my,” I include in my self-awareness a numberless array of cosmic beings, all of whom are dedicated to that flame, that flame of cognizance of the almighty Maximus.
The Maxin Light
The Maxin Light was the unfed flame that burned in the temple of Incal on Atlantis for five thousand years.
On Atlantis
The flame, which cast “a light of intense power,” burned in the shape of a giant spearhead, over three times the height of a tall man. It had been placed there in 15,000 B.C. by a mysterious ruler who reigned over the Atlanteans for 434 days. This one, who possessed wonderful knowledge, announced that he was from Incal, that he was a child of the Sun and that he had come to reform the religion and life of the people. Breathing upon a block of quartz, he established the great Maxin Light. He revised the laws, writing them with his finger upon the Maxin Stone and upon a book of parchment leaves placed under the Unfed Light. These guided Atlantis until her decline. El Morya has revealed that this ruler, who did not actually take on human form, was beloved Jesus.
The Maxin light burned until just before the sinking of Atlantis. People believed that the Unfed Fire of the Maxin Light would free the soul from all earthly restraints. And into this flame the people put the bodies of the dead or their ashes. Anything put into the flame would simply disappear; the flame would dissolve it.
